I am a beginner in skateboarding (I can only stay on board for a while before I lose my balance and fall to.) And I know what kind of skateboard should I. First, I would not recommend a scooter you've said. When I was 11, my aunt bought me a skateboard in a store of sporting goods, was really cheap. While it may ollies, trucks were broken, the skateboard is not long.
I suggest you buy a skateboard in a skate shop or a real skate shop online with confidence. These products last longer than shoes sold in department stores or sports shops.
